Vivienne Westwood has collaborated with Greenpeace and photographer Andy Gotts for a new series of portraits in support of their “Save The Arctic” campaign. Artists, musicians and models including George Clooney, Paloma Faith, Georgia May Jagger, Chris Martin and Westwood herself back the lineup for the new green campaign.
After meeting Westwood at a charity photoshoot with Elton John, Gotts offered his collaboration in support of her campaign portraits.
“People want to support Vivienne Westwood,” said Gotts. “She’s so passionate. They see Vivienne as someone really special and people feel the urge to fight in her corner.”
Westwood states that “Celebrities are often the key to getting a message across”, adding that she hopes to do more work with famous names. “Public opinion is very responsive to celebrity. The first thing I tend to do is ask them for a small amount of money, something that means nothing to them. Then they feel involved, rather than as if they are just doing me a favour.”
Save The Arctic pieces are available to purchase now from Vivienne Westwood.
