Thinking Bob : The friendship site for the dating app generation

At House of Coco we love meeting new people and we recently stumbled across Thinking Bob…

Earlier this year Boris Johnson revealed there are currently 8.6 million people living in the capital. An average of 16,416 people move to London each month* so by 2050, it is predicted, that London will have approx. 11 million inhabitants.

Recent research has revealed that the quality of a person’s social life can have a greater impact on health and well-being,** it’s important that they connect with like minded people. That’s where Thinking Bob comes in – a social club that connects similar minds through innovative events in the Capital.

Thinking Bob is an online and offline social network that brings people together through events to help Londoners and those new to the city meet people with similar interests and are on the same page as them. A real life social community that combines the network of social media with the experience of social events.

For a generation accustomed to using dating sites to meet loved ones, this is a friendship site to meet liked ones.

Rebecca Gregory, CEO and Founder of Thinking Bob, says “Afterall, the psychology is the same – most of us want dating sites to match us to ‘the one’, the special relationship that touches us. Fundamentally it’s what we look for in all our relationships – ‘someone that gets me’. Thinking Bob is the anti dating site – it’s the friends site. It’s a place to go to meet people to click with.”

Dubbed as London’s ‘smart’ social club, Thinking Bob isn’t a dating app that creates matches based on someone’s aesthetics or how often you’ve crossed paths with them, instead it’s designed to help Londoner’s meet people on the same wavelength, connecting people through fun events and socials.

And Thinking Bobbers can meet new friends and enjoy new events for less than their dating counterparts. Thinking Bob members enjoy all the online chat and interaction plus a host of events and socials every month – all from just £15 a month (with a £1 initial trial month). On average there are more than 55 events and socials every month for Bobbers to chose from.

After users create their profile they can then sign up to attend one of the many socials on the Thinking Bob calendar. Each time they meet someone they get on with they can then add them to a social circle area within their account. This allows new friends to see which events they are attending and also allows them to create ‘friends only’ private events in their new networks.

Rebecca said: “At Thinking Bob we have created an on-to-offline social experience that allows people to connect and create real friendships with like minded people. Bob has lots of friends to introduce to new members. By meeting ‘Bob’ members will meet his friends and build new relationships that are just for them. Come out alone and go home with a circle of new friends that you have loads in common with; it’s that simple.

“Our focus is to provide a social environment where people can meet and enjoy their time in the city, rather than trying to connect them because they have the same job title or live in the same area. It’s about real connection with real people, not just another social network of ‘friends’ and ‘connections’ that aren’t personal or real.”

Thinking Bob is a growing community of 6,500 members across London, all meeting regularly for socials and events in the city. Thinking Bob is designed for those who have recently moved or are moving to London to help them build a real life rather than digital social network based on shared common interests. Members also include long-term residents reacquainting themselves with the personality and neighbourhoods of the city and the many activities it offers.  And of course Bobber stay members – it’s where their friends are and where they meet new friends and continue to enjoy the city.
