Reiss extend the personal touch – from London to Leeds and beyond…

After a long day full of meetings we ran into Épernay champagne bar, one of Leeds little luxuries to be greeted with a delicious Reiss Collins (a peachy take on a Tom Collins) and a lineup of some of the beautiful Reiss collection.

House of Coco was invited to meet Karla, a Personal Shopper for Reiss, Leeds. We had the pleasure to chat to her about style, trend and have an exclusive preview of some of the new collection over a few drinks.

Karla has worked at Reiss for over three years. After starting her career in Reiss’ Victoria Quarter store in Leeds, she has built a loyal network of clients based across all corners of the north, who regularly rely on her expertise for their wardrobe choices.

I would get married in that dress if I hadn’t worn it so much

 karlaQ&A

WHO’S YOUR ULTIMATE STYLE ICON?
Somewhere between Jane Birkin and the Olsen twins, classic cuts with a boho edge (minus the Olsen twins unbrushed hair!). For menswear I adore Nick Wooster, amazingly tailored with a street wear edge.

WHICH TRENDS ARE YOU COVETING THIS SEASON?
I love the bright jewel colours and fluid fabrics in womenswear, and for menswear the slightly higher-cut trousers cropped with a real retro Riviera feel.

WHAT’S YOUR MUST-BUY FROM THE CURRENT COLLECTION?
The Celia snake print slippers with the hand painted polka dots are my ultimate summer run around shoe. I am in love with the Trill suede bomber jacket in stone on menswear – it’s so beautifully made and buttery soft!

WHAT’S YOUR ALL-TIME FAVOURITE REISS PURCHASE?
Almost 4 years ago when I started at Reiss I fell in love with the Sweetness dress, a fit and flare crochet dress with a sweetheart neckline. I would get married in that dress if I hadn’t worn it so much. Or the Cedar shoes, which were tan sandals with a wooden heel that I wore with ankle socks.

NAME YOUR TOP 5 STYLE ESSENTIALS
A statement accessory, a classic pair of brogues, a beautiful coat, a nice watch and sunglasses.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE LEEDS STYLE?
There is a very diverse mix of style in Leeds, ranging from a great vintage scene to luxury streetwear and high fashion.

Whether you need to find the perfect occasion outfit, key seasonal pieces or require a wardrobe re-fresh, Karla is happy to help.

House of Coco recommend ‘Harper’… a beautiful pair of blue shoes! A pointed toe stiletto heel shoe crafted from velvety soft suede, with an elegant shape and stylish scalloped detail to the sides. A wardrobe staple for autumn, this stylish suede court shoe looks great worn with well-cut trousers or your favourite jeans as well as with pencil skirts and dresses.
