London’s Most Instagrammable Food

Here at #TeamCoco, it’s no secret that we’re massive foodies and finding the best restaurants wherever we go is a VERY important priority on our travel checklist. Oh…and of course, it helps when these delicious treasures add a bit of spice to our Instagram feeds too. From a restaurant celebrating Tel Aviv’s colourful street food scene to a new haunt in Shoreditch serving up Himalayan sharing plates, we have rounded up our favourite flavours of the moment from five London restaurants. Feast your eyes on their culinary delights, which are sure to make mouths water on the feeds of Instagram.

  1. The Good Egg: The Good Egg is a fabulous addition to London’s street food scene which has become increasingly popular with foodies since it was started by a group of friends three years ago. The brunch, lunch, and dinner menus celebrate the cuisine of Tel Aviv’s street food stalls and flavours of the Middle East, and every dish draws inspiration from classic Jewish delis. We seriously recommend trying the Jerusalem breakfast, which includes a bite of everything scrumptious on the brekkie menu, including their delicious beets and dill dip, and a healthy portion of halloumi and fried eggs and herbs. It looks like a colourful masterpiece, perfect for the foodie lover on Insta! The dinner menu is really varied too. Oh and you must try Oded’s Babka (a Jewish cake) with a Negroni cocktail (we’d save the Negroni cocktail for later in the day, perhaps)…
  1. Madame D: We went to Madame D, and then immediately returned the following week because the food was so delicious. Their variety of Himalayan sharing plates looked pretty perfect on Instagram too, which is always a reason to go back hey! It’s a little on the pricey side, but we can promise you it’s worth it. The menu is full of tasty Himalayan treats, from pan-fried pork momos with tomato chutney to a hakka chilli paneer salad packed full of mouth-watering flavours. You have got to go here – for your Insta followers and for your taste buds.

  1. Café Miami: The perfect breakfast Instagram shot is yours with this hotspot in Hackney (the best breakfast isn’t quite smashed avo on toast either). Café Miami is a part of The Strand Building, E9 – a beautiful art deco building which was originally an electricity showroom. The decor of the café very much reflects the style of the building with a bright and sunny Miami-like atmosphere! The food also combines many of the flavours of Miami – mixing traditional and modern American with touches of Mexican, Spanish and Cuban. Much of their menu plays on the combination of sweet and salty, such as their avocado & halloumi with homemade sweet chilli jam and American-style waffles with grilled culatello (a cut of parma ham, which is produced in Hackney), blueberries & maple syrup. The fish tacos on the lunch menu are pretty spectacular too.
  1. Duddells: We would go to Duddell’s wherever it was located. Fortunately, the restaurant serves up its delicious dim sum in a spectacular venue – St. Thomas’ Church in the heart of London Bridge. A new favourite, Duddell’s London showcases delicious authentic Cantonese cuisine and beautifully hand-crafted dim sum which almost look too good to eat, ‘almost’ being the keyword. Heading up the kitchen is Chef Daren Liew who was previously Executive Sous Chef with the Hakkasan Group – another #TeamCoco fave, so we knew it was going to be rather impressive. Prepare to go to dim sum heaven.

  1. Salon Brixton: Salon started life as a pop-up above a cheese shop in Brixton’s Market Row (anything above a cheese shop is a good start for #TeamCoco). In the evenings, the restaurant serves an innovative and ever changing set menu of four or seven courses – like a tasting menu, but without the fuss. It’s a great venue for veggies, as the menu is mostly plant-based, but fresh and local meat alternatives are always on the menu too. The beetroot & chickpea hummus on sourdough with marinated feta herbs & chilli is a complete game changer on the constantly evolving brunch menu. The cocktail menu is seasonal and we can assure you that one (or two) always goes down very well indeed.
