Here at House of Coco we love anything calorific. So when we heard that Freakshakes, originally from Canberra in Australia, have found a new home in Leeds city centre, we were overjoyed. Even more so when we realised it’s at one of our fave hangouts in the city, Angelica. They’ve launched their very first menu of these epic milky concoctions.
These skyscraper milkshakes have become the latest social media sensation, thanks to their instagram-able style. These creamy mouth-watering creations aren’t just a pretty face; they are in fact a sweet tooth’s dream. With their combination of milky goodness, rich gooey cake and donuts, delicious cookie chunks, lashings of cream and ice cream, these inspired cocktails – all topped with a whole carnival of toppings from sweets and fruit to chocolate – are the perfect mix of drink and dessert.
Angelica, located in Trinity Leeds, will launch its Freakshake menu on Monday 13 March, to coincide with the premier of Disney’s live action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast later in the week. To celebrate the much-anticipated remake of this Disney classic, head chef, Lee Murdoch has created two limited edition shakes, inspired by the fairy tale’s romantic characters.
The Belle Freakshake has taken inspiration from the Disney character’s famous golden ball gown, with a delicious mix of yellow tasty treats and sweets. And of course, the Beast Freakshake, inspired by his rugged blue waistcoat and brown fur, expect a lot of chocolate in this gigantic shake.
Lee adds: “These new additions to the dessert menu at Angelica marks a Freakshake debut for the city, and we can’t wait to serve the people of Leeds some serious freaky shakes. With piles of sweets and tasty treats on top of a divine milky drink, your taste buds are going to be in heaven as you and a friend devour these monstrous milkshakes.”
Angelica has also teamed up with the Everyman cinema to give away four tickets to the opening night of Beauty and The Beast on Friday 17 March, plus a Freakshake of their choosing. To enter all you need to do is visit Angelica’s Facebook page.
