It’s the calm before the big chill hits London, and with news of possible snowfall this week, everyone is hunkering down for the winter. In our humble opinion, there’s no better way to keep warm than with a nice glass of Irish Whiskey – and we think we’ve just discovered our favourite new malt.

On an extra-chilly London evening, we made our way to TT Liquor, a discrete little cellar bar on Kingsland Road, to celebrate the launch of Roe & Collective. A series of creative sessions crafted to reinvigorate the spirit of craftsmanship, with the help of some pretty strong spirits too, The project is a collaboration between creative studio Make.Your.Own, and Irish whiskey makers, Roe & Co; who not only share the same Irish roots, but also share the same mission to pay homage to age old crafts and heritage and reimagining the old to create the new.

The first edition of Roe & Collective sparked our creativity through a 25 minute calligraphy lesson. Not only did we learned how to elevate our penmanship; we also learned some pretty important whiskey related quotes. I learned the very valuable lesson that, ‘When life gives you lemons, make whiskey sours’. The evening also revealed the new ‘Roe’ming Tram’ — which is basically a mobile distillery that will bring Roe & Co’s creamy vanilla flavoured whiskey to thirsty Londoners all over town.

According to Alan Mulhivill, Roe & Co’s European brand ambassador, “We are so excited to have been joined by such a great crowd for the launch of Roe & Collective. Roe & Co is a unique blend of true Irishness and versatile modernity, and we hope these qualities shone through all elements of the event,” – After several glasses of whiskey, and some sheets of pretty decent calligraphy to take home, they have definitely succeeded in igniting our creative fires, and also a renewed love for whiskey.
