Etape Suisse sees high demand for Davos 2015 places

Etape Suisse, the organiser and promoter of luxury cycling sportives in Switzerland, is seeing high demand for places on its Davos 2015 blue riband event, 10 – 13 September.

The trip offers a luxurious and exclusive three-day festival of cycling and fine dining in the Swiss Alps, a place that we love here at House of Coco.

Joining the trip are owner and manager of Wiggle-Honda, Rochelle Gilmour and former Australian racing professional, Cadel Evans.

Rochelle Gilmore is an Australian racing cyclist currently living in Italy. In 2006, she won a stage at the Geelong Women’s Tour, took second in the Commonwealth Games points race (behind teammate Kate Bates), and earned top five finishes in a Giro d’Italia Femminile stage, the Geelong World Cup, and the Liberty Classic. In the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, Rochelle won gold in the 112 km road bicycle racing event.

Cadel Evans is a former Australian professional racing cyclist and winner of the 2011 Tour de France. A former champion mountain biker, he switched to full-time road cycling in 2001. Cadel is a four time Olympian and was the first Australian to win the UCI ProTour (2007) and the UCI Road World Championships (2009). He won the Tour de France in 2011 with the BMC Racing Team.

Davos, Europe’s highest city, is surrounded by stunning scenery. Riders taking part in the Etape Suisse Davos 2015 blue riband event will stay at the luxurious Intercontinental Hotel. On arrival, they’ll be greeted at a Champagne reception before being fitted for a BMC carbon bike or a power assisted Stromer e-bike by fitting specialists, Cyclefit. Over the following days, they’ll enjoy guided rides around Davos, a choice of cycling challenges, a Michelin-starred lunch and full mechanical support. Complimentary sports massages will also be available at a post-ride spa party.

The event concludes with a charity gala dinner, including an auction and award ceremony, in support of Laureus Sports for Good Foundation.

Looking ahead to Davos 2015, Sara Tye, CEO of Etape Suisse, said: “With breathtaking scenery and super-smooth road surfaces, this three day event provides the perfect break for anyone who enjoys cycling. The accommodation and food will be second to none and the networking opportunities at the highest level. We’ll also be raising money for an extraordinary charity in Laureus Sports Foundation for Good. We recommend early bookings as places are limited and, following last year’s event, in great demand.”
