Escape From London in London: The Hilton Syon Park Review

As much as #TeamCoco loves London we also appreciate the occasional getaway from the hustle and bustle, especially when it involves only a 20 minute drive just over to the West side of London. With all the style of the city, and the peace of the country; The Hilton Syon Park makes for a perfect weekend getaway. We sent our Lifestyle Writer, Helena, to check it out…

A peaceful retreat set in 200 acres of parkland which has been the seat of the Duke of Northumberland for 400 years equipped with a serene spa, indoor swimming pool, state-of-the-art gym, whirlpool, steam room and sauna all facilitating the transportation to an idyllic countryside retreat.  Offering 137 spacious and stylish guest rooms including 10 suites , all with views either over the hotel’s gardens or over Syon Park, complimentary WiFi, flat screen HDTV’s with built in media hub and fully equipped mini bars.

The enormous, comfortable bed was just the start of the royal treatment we received, our Deluxe room also with a private balcony overlooking the hotel’s gardens, a bath tub with a TV and rainfall shower, and a bottle of Prosecco on deck we were quite happy to never have to leave the room!

After much deliberation, and the temptation of food, we finally sparked some motivation to go and branch out of our room to Marco Pierre White’s Steakhouse just downstairs (and let’s be honest, it was time to trial a cocktail or two!) Starting with a delicious Passion Fruit Mojito, the restaurant & bar offers a typically British menu, a variety of steak with a choice of sauce, triple cooked chips and many sides, we were excited to get tucked in. The steak was cooked to perfection and macaroni cheese served in mini copper saucepans was a great addition. All followed by an indulgent Chocolate Brownie with ice cream for dessert, it’s safe to say we couldn’t move after! Sadly, the decor of the restaurant wasn’t as visually appealing as anticipated, but the service nonetheless was exceptional.

A candlelit corridor leads down to the Kallima Spa, and is the epitome of relaxation as soon as you arrive on the Ground floor. Soothing meditational music and aromatic scents overtake upon arrival, an oasis of tranquillity for the mind and body.special-offer-spa-break

The spa menu includes signature treatments, oil and mud body wraps, beauty treatments and facials, all catering for both men and woman. Fluffy white gown and slippers in tow we made our way to the treatment room for our Tranquility Face & Body Ritual, this is a Kallima Spa signature, a 90 minute treatment including the tranquility oil body wrap with 6 essential oils; also include the Tranquility facial, with a blend of essential and amarynth oils to calm and hydrate the skin. Sadly, our treatment time was cut short to 60 mins, but never-the-less it was the perfect indulgence, the treatment was faultless and the scent of the oils and had our skin smelling amazing for hours after!

We also loved The Snug room, where you’re taken to after the treatment to chill out and unwind, very cute and cosy. The perfect place for before or after you take a dip or hit the steam room and sauna.

Afternoon tea proved to be the perfect treat following the spa, we were looking forward to having our first Festive Afternoon Tea but unluckily for us, it will not be offered until December, with a selection of finger sandwiches, warm scones, cakes, choice of champagne & pot of tea it was the perfect wind-down for the day. Afternoon Tea is served every day from 3pm – 5pm, you can view the Festive menu here.
