TISKA LONDON is a label inspired fully by all things Nordic. Created by British Designer Kim Stacey the brand promotes positivity, strength and independence in women. Each TISKA LONDON collection is based on a story and each garment has a Nordic inspired name.
The collections are not based on trends, this delivers a timeless yet unique style. The clothes are designed to be worn again and again making them more of an investment and stepping away from fast fashion.
Each collection has a name with a story behind it, so you can connect to the clothes on a more intimate level. The first collection is called Lilya, the story of a young Icelandic woman travelling to Sweden and discovering a hotel made of Ice.
Here, founder Kim Stacey chats to us about her plans for the future and so much more…
When did you launch the brand and what was the reason behind it?
I launched TISKA LONDON on the 1st August 2017. Running my own fashion label is something that I have always wanted to do and have not been able to do until recently. My son is getting older and i can devote more time to it now.
Whats your background?
I achieved a degree in Fashion Design and Technology at Manchester Metropolitan University, i then went on to have my son while working in the travel industry and getting numerous opportunities to travel around Iceland and Scandinavia. My father owns a travel company so I have grown up travelling, including annual trips to Iceland. This is where the inspiration behind the label came from.
If you could start over with the business, would you do anything differently?
I only launched 3 months ago and so i am still developing and learning. One thing that I wish i understood sooner is that it is also important to have a break and to refresh, i am constantly thinking about the label but my best ideas are after i have been for a walk / had a good nights sleep / been to my spinning class!
What is the hardest challenge you have faced since you started the company?
My hardest challenge is time, as i am currently the only person within the company at the moment i of course need to do everything myself, but this is also the strength of the business as it means there is a personal touch and everything is done with love.
Tell us one fact about you that people wouldn’t know?
I spent Christmas Day one year in the north of Iceland go-karting on a frozen lake.
2018 is almost here, where do you plan on taking the brand?
By the end of 2018 I will have produced another 2 collections. The brand will appear in more publications and will appear in some high end luxury boutiques.
To date, what has been the highlight since launching?
Being contacted by British VOGUE and of course House of CoCo.

Not being afraid of being you and expressing how you feel.

Most memorable piece of advice given to you?
