Charlene will take guests on a guided visit of the local market of Central de Flacq, a 10 minute drive from The Residence Mauritius. Guests will choose their own local vegetables and spices with the assistance of Charlene as well as being able to do some shopping of their own in the town! In the evening, Charlene will welcome the guests to her house in the village of Trou d’Eeau Douce where they will take the produce bought at the market, to be cooked and prepared by Charlene before sitting down together for dinner.
InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort, Koh Samui
The InterContinental Koh Samui cookery classes invites guests to learn the art of Thai Cuisine with Master Chef Tao in the signature open kitchen of Amber restaurant.
The lesson begins with a guided visit to the local Si Fah morning market, where the freshest ingredients are picked for the day’s class. Enjoy the buzz of activity and explore the various stalls as the chef leads the tour and answers any questions.
Then head to the fish market to check on the freshest catch of the day – such as tiger prawns, Phuket lobsters, barracuda and white snapper – and see fresh coconut milk being made. Also sample some delicious dishes such as Kaeng Som sour curry soup.
Then it is back to Amber, where guests will be given a signature InterContinental® apron and will learn how to make classic dishes such as Tom Yum Goong, Pad Thai, and Penang Curry.
