Eco Glitter fun was born from two festival loving party animals, whose mission is to bring responsible sparkles and plastic pollution awareness to the world.

Here, we go behind the brand to find out more…

When did you launch the brand and what was the reason behind it?I am what I guess people would call an eco warrior and I have always tried everything I can to avoid unnecessary waste and especially waste that cannot be recycled. I had been struggling with the issue of plastic glitter for a while and trying to find a solution, I hate plastic but I love glitter and shiny things. I was constantly telling people how they should not be using normal glitter and how bad it was. I was trying my best to just raise awareness of how bad plastic glitter was, as well single use straws plastics. Coffee cups are a pet peeve of mine too! When I finally found out that biodegradable glitter was a possibility I rang my best friend and asked her to join my venture, she said yes! A week later we had invested a ton of money and we had founded our company. Four months later we had launched our website and we have not looked back since….Whats your background?I have a BSc in Chemistry but I have worked in the aviation industry most of my life. How many people are involved in the company and what are their roles?

There is myself who covers product research & development and purchasing.

My business partner and co founder is the commercial and sales director. We also have a social media marketing manager and graphic designer on board, we often work with models and photographer on a contract basis. We have a small team glitter fairies in the workshop who pack and ships the glitter! If you could start over with the business, would you do anything differently?Only one thing I think. Not invest so much in the product before we have come up with a website and product design! What is the hardest challenge you have faced since you started the company? Not being able to apply for festival stalls without having had a festival stall before. It became very much a Catch 22 problem, you can’t have a stall because you have never had a stall!

Tell us one fact about you that people wouldn’t know? I also design custom hats and clothing for a company we are planning to launch soon!2017 is here, where do you plan on taking the brand?Everywhere – by the end of the year we are hoping plastic glitter will be a thing on the past….we like to dream big!To date, what has been the highlight since launching? There have been so many, it’s so hard to choose! I think our Green Matters video being released and going viral. The amount of love and interest we have received since it was launched has been overwhelming.Which city do you feel most at home in, London, Paris or New York?Definitely London although I have spent a lot of time in New York & Paris too! Three beauty products you can’t leave the house without?
My illamasqua lipstick, aloe vera gel and of course a small pot of biodegradable glitter!

Style means….?
Vintage Vintage Vintage!Best thing about London to you?The diversity of the people and the pop up shops and restaurants.Statement shoe or statement bag?
Vintage Chanel handbag or Swedish Hasbeens …. can’t decide which one is better! If you had to, what piece of clothing from your wardrobe would you wear everyday?
My sequin kimono by L.O.M . It just makes me so happy wearing it !Favourite love song?
Bonobo -Sapphire from the North Borders Album.Best place for a coffee?
My house where I can have a lovely “pick your favourite tea ” instead! Most memorable piece of advice given to you?
Stop worrying about everything! – From my business partnerGuilty pleasure?
Ice cold Brew Dog Punk IPA

If you could spent 24 hours in anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Anywhere with my hus- band…. but especially in Florence! In future, how do you plan on expanding the company?
We want to change behaviour from the top down, so educating is the most important part of our journey, the rest will come.Find out more…
