Here, Martina talks to us at House of Coco and tells us more…
When did you launch the brand and what was the reason behind it?
I launched marryandbride – knitted couture just last November 2016, all preparations started a while before of course, at the beginning of 2016…..
I got married myself in october 2015, and I just could not find anything I liked to wear on top of my precious wedding gown…. I wanted something modern, cool, sophisticated yet not too trendy, something cosy and stylish, something I could wear afterwards and would not ruin the hairstyle….
I loooooove knitting which I learned from my grandmother as a child, so I decided to knit something cool for myself. I had a very clear idea how it should fit my dress. The top of my dress was decorated with lots of butterflies on tulle, so I knitted a gown down to my ankles which is open on both sides with wings like a butterfly. On my wedding day all of my guests asked me where I got this gorgeous piece and when I told them I knitted it myself, they just could not believe it
So this gown became the first piece of my collection: “come fly with me”
I realised a lot of brides are facing the same “problem” they they need something to cover their shoulders or back so here is the solution.
Whats your background?
I have worked in the advertising industry for over 15 years, being an account director for over 5 years in a big agency, and having run my own casting agency for 10 years… so marketing and communication is my other passion…
How many people are involved in the company and what are their roles?
For now I work with an assistant, which helps me develop my ideas and designs, PR and all there is to do… the accessories are handknitted by several professional knitters.

Also, I had a big german wedding blog ask me right away to do a special collection for them, which will be coming out this month, so I guess this is definitely a highlight too.
