When you first experience a new scent, you subconsciously link it to an event, a person, an image, a feeling… even a moment. Your brain immediately forges an association between the smell and a memory, and then each subsequent time you encounter that same smell, your mind slips into a state of déjà vu.
At Ayesha Ziya they are passionate about fragrances that are ever lasting, exclusive and exotic. They are a UK based manufacturer of high end, exclusive fragrances. Once you indulge in one of our scents, we know you will be hooked to the luscious, enticing fragrance we have to offer just like we are here at House of Coco. Their range of perfumes have derived from years of careful research and here they tell us more…
When did you launch the brand and what was the reason behind it?
Growing up ever since I was a little girl I would always admire my mum’s luxury perfume collection, the divine smell of my mother always made me fall in love with her oriental fragrances and I wanted to grow up smelling as beautiful as she does. Living in Dubai for many years made me certain I wanted to launch my own collection in the UK. After completing a perfumery course Ayesha Ziya Fragrances launched in February 2015 – my dreams came true!
What is the hardest challenge you have faced since you started the company?
With every business there are hard times and good times, but for me the hardest challenge I faced was finding loyal friendship within the business. I came across challenging obstacles which were hard to tackle while developing the brand but with every twist and turn came a new lesson learnt!
2016 is almost here, where do you plan on taking the brand?
Ayesha Ziya Fragrances will most definitely be starting the year with a great start! I can’t give away too much away right now but let’s just say the collection will be growing. Keep a look out in January to find out what more is coming.
To date, what has been the highlight since launching?
The biggest highlight for me has to be wonderful support I have had not just from my family and friends, but from my followers who have seen Ayesha Ziya Fragrances grow from the first day.
Style to me means having the creativity and confidence to show of your personality with what you wear. Knowing what suits you is important. There’s a huge difference between someone who’s dressed ‘fashionably’ and then dressed ‘stylishly’.
Best thing about London to you?
As cliché as this may sound the best thing about London has got to be shopping! The minute I’m in London I could get lost in my own little world and you’ll always find me blissfully smelling fragrances in the fragrances section of any department store.
If you had to, what piece of clothing from your wardrobe would you wear every day?
From all the glam events I have attended you may think you’ll only find me with my Chanel in my hand and walking tall in my Louboutin heels but I’m a real jeans and T kind of girl and you’ll only see me in my Jimmy Choo’s trainers on a everyday bases.
Favourite love song?
My favourite love song has got to be Taylor Swift – Love story!
Most memorable piece of advice given to you?
Your clever if you learn from your mistake, but your cleverer if you learn from someone else’s mistake. – quoted by my wonderful and supporting brother Moh.
If you could spend 24 hours anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Sat next to a fire place with my mum, where wouldn’t matter, as long as I’m with her.
