A hidden gem on Staten Island, Bayou Restaurant brings all the flavor and flare of New Orleans to New York. Before we get to the amazing food and drinks, the breathtaking decor of the restaurant makes you feel like you’re on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Entering the establishment, the staff makes you feel more than welcome which is really rare in a lot of places these days. The laid back atmosphere and the and the amazing jazz music sets a tone like no other. You know you’re about to have a great time.
The menu has some really tasty dishes. We suggest you start off with at least two appetizers. We recommend the Alligator bites, which are grilled meatballs over Ciabatta bread, accompanied by Stella bleu cheese and tomato salad. The Cajun Hummus is great also. If you’re a lover of hummus this a dish you have got to try. Last but definitely not least, the Andouille. Authentic Cajun style sausage grilled and served with Basquaise sauce that will leave you wanting more. Drink wise, the Hurricanes and Chocolate martini’s are perfection if you’re not a wine drinker.
Foodies you will be in love with the entree section of the menu. Poultry, different types of meats and of course seafood, the choices are heavenly and so are the portions. The price point for each entree is under $30 which makes a meal affordable for everyone. You have to visit this restaurant multiple times to really get the full effect of the menu.
