Located on the Brompton Road in Knightsbridge, Mamounia Lounge is an opulent and glitzy Lebanese restaurant serving up delicious Middle Eastern delights. A month back, the restaurant and cocktail bar unveiled a new A La Carte menu which #TeamCoco was lucky enough to try.

Combining traditional Morroccan and Lebanese cooking with hints of contemporary flavours, the new menu has an array of delectable dishes showcasing Head Chef Thamer Darwish’s mastery of traditional cooking methods. Taking inspiration from his mother’s traditional cooking, he has created staple Middle Eastern dishes with West London flair.

The eclectic cocktail menu is huge with plenty to choose from – we would highly recommend the Mamounia mule – a delicious long drink with vodka and ginger, garnished with lime and sugar. The sharing plates at Mamounia Lounge are the way to go. Darwish’s new menu includes a creamy hummus with truffle oil and lemon juice which is scattered wild mushrooms atop – this is served with warm Lebanese breads. Be sure to ask for a side of halloumi as it is done to absolute perfection! We went on to the kadaif prawns which are wrapped with kadaif pastry and served with smashed avocado and lime. The fish tagine is also a must-try which is the fish of the day served with olives in a rich chermoula sauce. You must save some room for dessert because the gooey baklawa and spongy baghrir crepes are simply delicious.

For those who want to feel like royalty with a dollop of hummus and a puff of shisha, head to Mamounia Bar to try the new menu. We are also told that the weekends are lively, mirroring the buzzy bars of Marrakech, with belly dancers and music.
