#TeamCoco pup Charlie is at it again, with another dog-friendly review in London. This time, Charlie hits up the French Bistro classic, Colbert – for a night of escargot, red wine, and of course — doggie treats!

Located just a few metres away from Sloane Square station; Colbert’s handsome wood marquis immediately draws you in. Inside, the restaurant is absolutely buzzing. Filled with stylish Chelsea natives fresh off the office, and a sprinkling of well-dressed families too. Almost every corner of Colbert’s walls is filled with some kind of Art Nouveau print, or French movie poster, and during our Wednesday night visit, almost every table was booked. It becomes obvious that real estate in Colbert is both precious and rare, even on a Wednesday evening. Dining in Colbert feels like stepping back into Paris in the 1920s, beautiful oak panelling, rich burgundy banquettes, andof course a certain kind of ‘je ne sais quoi’ that gives Colbert a distinct kind of charm.

Besides the effortless authenticity of its interiors, one look at the French bistro style many, and the restaurant’s popularity makes total sense. From classics like the truly faultless Escargots à la Bourguignonne, and the Salmon Tartare with Avocado, completely opposites in taste and textures but both equally satisfying,to their large plates like the Côte du Boeuf and Steak Diane, Colbert perfectly executes haute-french cuisine right in the heart of Chelsea. Don’t forget to ask the lovely restaurant manager Rocco, for some wine pairings too – The Chateau Lussac was particularly lovely with Colbert’ s lovely main course options.

But setting the human food aside for one second, Colbert is also a perfectly great place to bring your pooch for a doggie date in SouthWest London. Charlie was immediately greeted by the lovely staff at Colbert and was instantly offered a dog bowl, and one (or five) signature doggie treats. It is worth noting that on a truly busy night, Colbert’s staff made sure to take great care of their furry guest – which I think is definitely worth mentioning.

Finally, don’t leave Colbert without trying out their desserts, the Ice Cream Profiteroles are made in-house are absolutely mouth-watering – so much so that we had two servings! However, if desserts aren’t your fancy, Colbert also has a large selection of French cheeses. Charlie and I can assure you there is no better way to end the evening.
